Hey everyone!
I hope you are all doing well and staying safe. I've had some people asking about my summer plans due to COVID-19 and I thought I'd take the time to share what's going on with me this summer. I am pleased to say that I was offered and accepted the Music Directing internship at the Muny in St. Louis for the summer. However, as I'm sure you can all imagine, just about everything possible, from COVID-19 to 'murder hornets', has occurred since that opportunity arose.
The original season was to begin on June 1st with a 7 show season over the course of the summer. I was incredibly excited to be able to assistant the professional music directors in the various tasks of putting up 7 shows in such a short amount of time. A few weeks ago the Muny staff organized a Zoom call with the interns and informed us of a change for the summer plan. As of now, the internship and season will still be happening with a condensed season starting in mid July. I am holding onto a bit of hope that the internship will occur though I am expecting to hear of a cancellation in the near future. I am hoping that I can have the opportunity to work a full season at the Muny in the future.
